Up Later Than You is a commerce design studio that works with brands to create beautiful online stores on Shopify. We also have a store and brand of our own called Province of Canada. We're Toronto based, located in the neighbourhood known as Leslieville.

Front-End Developer/Designer

As a Front-End Developer/Designer at Up Later Than You, you will work with our Creative Director to build out amazing Shopify sites. Your focus will be simple; to build beautiful Shopify sites with sound code. 

Things You Need to Know How to Do

  • Build out high quality design comps
  • Ability to write good code
  • Inspect and troubleshoot bugs
  • Stay on top of best practices

Things We Look For

  • Initiative: Whether it's staying on top of current development and design trends or whipping up a cool little script in-between projects, we love gumption. 
  • Attention to Detail: We're cross all the T's, dot all the I's type of people, you should be one too.
  • Time Management: Productivity is one of our favourite things.

Things You Need Under Your Belt

  • 2 years experience in web development
  • Experience using the Shopify platform
  • HTML, CSS/SCSS, Liquid, Ruby on Rails and Javascript/jQuery
  • Experience collaborating with a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience using version-control tools such as Git/Grunt
  • Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
